Organic Composting and Urban Farming Program Drives Green Neighborhoods in Depok
YIIM and Insight trained 40 residents in household organic composting and urban gardening, diverting waste from landfills while growing healthy fresh vegetables.
Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management expanded their community greening initiative by launching an Organic Composting and Urban Farming program in Depok.
Forty neighborhood residents participated in hands-on workshops on separating organic kitchen waste, using composter bins and maggot cultivation for rapid composting, and using organic compost to grow vegetables in vertical garden racks.
The program provided composting drums, gardening tools, organic fertilizer, and vegetable seeds to establish neighborhood green corners.
This initiative supports SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 13: Climate Action.
