The Indonesia Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Pertamina Training and Consulting are always committed to supporting strengthening community independence through a series of inclusive and sustainable empowerment initiatives.
PT Pertamina Training and Consulting and the Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) (PTC and YIIM) held barista training for people with physical disabilities at the YIIM inspiration coffee shop in the South Jakarta area.
The President Director of PT Pertamina Training and Consulting, Teuku Mirasfi, in Jakarta, Saturday, said that the barista training was held as part of the company’s social and environmental responsibility (TJSL) program.
“Thank you for holding this activity, which is part of the social and environmental responsibility of PT Pertamina Training and Consulting, to make a contribution to society,” he said.
According to Mirasfi, disabled people are very enthusiastic about taking part in this activity, but because space is limited, the number of participants is limited.
“We held this activity in several batches. Today there were three participants. There were hundreds of people interested. Because there were too many, we limited the participants,” he said.
Mirasfi explained that people with disabilities who take part in this barista training will then be monitored to see whether the knowledge they have received can be mastered and put into practice.
“Next year we will find out again whether this training is still needed. After this training, we will evaluate it. We will see what the interest is, and what kind of implementation it will be,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the YIIM Management, Chrisbiantoro, stated that this collaboration with PTC was a good start towards other collaborations. This coffee barista training is considered to be one of the superior social programs that is in line with sustainable development goals (SDGs).
“Coffee barista is one of YIIM’s flagship programs, apart from culinary, barbering, hydroponics, cosmetology and clothing screen printing classes,” said Chrisbiantoro, adding that the number of online barista registrants reached 13,621 people.
Chrisbiantoro explained that the barista training activities were a series of social entrepreneurship training series held since August 24 2021.
Chris added that participants are expected to have knowledge, skills and be able to open a MSME coffee shop business or work in a coffee shop to have a positive impact on the participants’ economy.
One of the participants, Festinalita Theresia Tampubolon, hopes that the knowledge gained can provide new understanding so that she can get a job in this field.
“With this training, I can further deepen my knowledge, to look for work in a coffee shop. If I have studied further, maybe I will open my own business later,” he said.
Through this synergy and initiative, the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) hopes that the programs implemented can provide real benefits, open up wider opportunities for independence for participants, and actively contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
*Inspiration Greetings!*
