The Indonesia Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Pertamina Training and Consulting are always committed to supporting strengthening community independence through a series of inclusive and sustainable empowerment initiatives.

PT Pertamina Training and Consulting (PTC) trains entrepreneurs for underprivileged communities in Jakarta Bogor Depok Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) so that their products can compete, while meeting market demand.

PTC’s Corporate Communication & CSR Officer, Okeu Yudipratomo, in a written statement in Jakarta, Tuesday, said that his party was targeting residents affected by layoffs, the unemployed, people with disabilities and former inmates to take part in the training.

“The first batch of entrepreneurship training will start in 2021 to reach out to communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Okeu.

In 2022, Okeu said that PTC will collaborate with the Indonesian Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) to carry out Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) consistently to develop community capabilities through various training, such as coffee barista training, frozen food training and hydroponic training.

During 2021, it was recorded that 31 frozen food and hydroponic entrepreneurs were able to enter the segments needed by society so that they could answer market challenges, increase society’s competitiveness and generate economic enthusiasm.

Okeu revealed that as many as 17 alumni of the first stage of frozen food training took part in online advanced training with a selection system for participants who were active and had skills based on the assessment of the presenters.

Furthermore, the eight selected participants received in-depth material regarding recipes for cooking processed foods, such as frozen food chicken egg rolls, frozen food dragon feet, melted chocolate banana recipes, packaging methods and calculating business capital.

Meanwhile, participants in urban farming or hydroponics material also received training, which was attended by 11 people, then eight people would be selected to receive material introducing installation, nutrition, seeding techniques, care, handling of hydroponic vegetable cultivation and hydroponic business opportunities.

Apart from that, PTC and YIIM also provide free halal product certification assistance for entrepreneurs, facilitated by the World Halal Center.

Okeu said that the halal product certification program was held by the Halal Product Guarantee Organizing Agency of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion.

“Halal certificates are an important element to guarantee the quality of products sold so that they can meet increasing market expectations and needs,” said Okeu.

Through this synergy and initiative, the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) hopes that the programs implemented can provide real benefits, open up wider opportunities for independence for participants, and actively contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
