The flood disaster that hit a number of areas on the island of Sumatra in recent times has had a significant impact on people’s lives. High rainfall which caused rivers to overflow resulted in the submergence of residential areas, disruption of daily activities, and limited access to basic needs such as food and hygiene. One of the areas affected is Setia Hamlet, Health Village, Aceh Tamiang Regency.

Responding to these conditions, the Indonesian Building Inspiration Foundation is supported by PT. Insight Investments Management provided humanitarian assistance in the form of food logistics and cleaning supplies which were distributed to flood-affected communities in Setia Hamlet. The distribution of aid was carried out on Friday, December 19 2025, as part of emergency response efforts to help ease the burden on residents after the disaster.

The distribution of aid was carried out with the assistance of the Indonesian Solidarity Basecamp as a distribution partner in the field. The aid was distributed to the residence of Mrs. Iyet, a resident who is known as a local hero because during the previous flood incident she was willing to accommodate and help around 30-50 people in her house. Considering that currently Mrs. Iyet is still taking refuge in Paya Bedi Village, the assistance was received directly by Mr. Jamil, her younger brother.

The aid distributed consists of food logistics needs and cleaning equipment aimed at supporting the fulfillment of the community’s basic needs during the initial recovery period. Distribution is carried out in coordination with volunteers and local figures to ensure that aid is received on target.

Through the distribution of this aid, it is hoped that the people of Setia Hamlet can get the support they need to survive and recover from the impact of the disaster. This humanitarian effort is a reminder of the importance of solidarity and mutual concern in facing emergency situations, especially for communities in disaster-prone areas.
