The Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) (INSIGHT) are always committed to supporting the strengthening of community independence through a series of inclusive and sustainable empowerment initiatives.

The non-profit organization Inspiration Indonesia Building Foundation (YIIM) empowers prospective barbers through training to improve the community economy.

“The training for the first group of prospective barbers in 2020 will be 15 people,” said YMII Head of Management, Chrisbiantoro Dewi Astari in Jakarta, Tuesday.

Chrisbiantoro said that the training for prospective barbers was attended by various backgrounds, such as young people who had dropped out of school, casual workers, the unemployed, and former residents of the Central Jakarta Correctional Center (Bapas).

Chrisbiantoro said that YIIM collaborates with PT Insight Investment Management as the main partner to contribute to empowering the economy in line with sustainable development programs.

“Especially for the first goal of eliminating poverty and the eighth goal of economic growth,” said Chrisbiantoro.

The sustainable development program is in accordance with Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 59 of 2017 concerning Implementation of the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.

Chrisbiantoro stated that the barber profession is one way of empowering urban communities to create jobs.

One of the hair barber presenters, Syaifulloh, gave directions and explanations regarding hair cutting techniques, as well as identifying hair types.

After receiving training, the participants will take part in an internship program for two months and coaching for three months at YMII’s barbershop in the West Jakarta area, as well as Beji, Depok.
