The Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) together with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) (LPSK) are always committed to supporting the strengthening of community independence through a series of inclusive and sustainable empowerment initiatives.

The Indonesian Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) (LPSK) held a psychosocial assistance service program for a number of victims of certain criminal cases in the Central Java-DIY region, Thursday (22/10) at the local representative office.

Chairman of LPSK RI, Hasto Atmojo Suroyo, said that his party was collaborating with two philanthropic institutions, namely Lazismu and YIIM, to empower witnesses and victims in the Yogyakarta area and its surroundings on that occasion.

Hasto said that psychosocial services are one of the programs carried out with the aim of restoring the social function of victims so that they can interact optimally in society again.

“Even though this program is mandated by law, we must work together in carrying out these tasks. So that all parties can improve the quality of life of victims from all sides,” he said.

He continued, currently his party has formed a psychosocial treatment team. This team will be tasked with mapping psychosocial assistance programs in a number of agencies so that they can be distributed to survivors.

“They will also be tasked with compiling a service road map, including ensuring that the program can be beneficial for the economic and social development of the victims,” ​​he explained.

On that occasion, at least dozens of victims of serious human rights violations, criminal acts of terrorism, violence and witnesses of corruption crimes from a number of regions in Indonesia, Yogya and surrounding areas had the opportunity to access psychosocial services.

Meanwhile, Lazismu played a role in distributing scholarships, business capital and medical capital for two victims of domestic violence and four victims of serious abuse.

Meanwhile, YIIM will be a facilitator in training on economic empowerment through the urban farming sector.

Director of Lazismu, Hilman Latief, said that the psychosocial program that is being rolled out is expected to be sustainable and reach all parties.

“As a pilot project, we are providing 1,000 food security packages for the DIY, East Java, Central Java, West Java and Jakarta regions. We hope that this activity can provide benefits for victims’ recovery efforts and become a stimulus for a number of parties to support LPSK’s psychosocial programs,” said Hilman.
