Collaborative Pandemic Relief: Distributing Nutrition Packages and Masks for Children and Families with Disabilities in Tangerang
YIIM partnered with SOLA Indonesia and Tarumanagara University to distribute nutritional milk, biscuits, vitamins, and medical masks to children and families of persons with disabilities sheltered by Yayasan Difabel Mandiri Indonesia.

Amidst the escalating challenges of the pandemic, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) once again partnered with SOLA Indonesia and Tarumanagara University (UNTAR) to deliver humanitarian assistance for communities impacted by Covid-19. On this occasion, support was dedicated to children and families of persons with disabilities sheltered by Yayasan Difabel Mandiri Indonesia (YDMI). The aid packages comprised nutritional milk, biscuits, vitamins, and protective medical masks.
This social initiative represents a continuation of YIIM’s ongoing relief efforts. The first phase was rolled out in the coastal settlement of Kampung Baru, Cilincing District, North Jakarta, on June 4, 2021, followed by the second phase dedicated to street children supported by Yayasan Bina Anak Pertiwi in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, on June 18, 2021. Documentation of these prior activities can be accessed via previous reports.
This humanitarian response aligns closely with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.
Through this joint initiative, YIIM, UNTAR, and YDMI delivered 25 supplementary food packages for children and 100 medical masks. The assistance reached 100 beneficiaries consisting of children and family members of persons with physical, hearing, visual, and Down syndrome disabilities supported by YDMI around Cikokol, Pinang District, Tangerang City.
Headquartered on Jalan KH Agus Salim, Gang Masjid I No. 37, RT 02/RW 06, Poris Plawad, Cipondoh District, Tangerang City, Banten, YDMI was established on the solidarity of persons with disabilities to create a mutual support network. Within the foundation, members share experiences, insights, and skills to strengthen one another toward self-reliance.
The supplemental nutrition aid was made possible through donations collected by the Community Service Division of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Psychology at Tarumanagara University (UNTAR), amounting to IDR 1,970,000 (one million nine hundred seventy thousand rupiah), which was utilized to procure 80 children’s supplementary nutrition packages. Concurrently, the masks were generously provided by SOLA Indonesia from a total pool of 350 donated masks.
In compliance with the Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) across Java and Bali, YIIM maintained strict health protocols during the distribution. Relief packages were dispatched via reliable postal delivery services directly to YDMI’s secretariat and received on-site by Mr. Irpan Rustandi, General Secretary of YDMI.
Mr. Irpan Rustandi conveyed his appreciation: “Our sincere gratitude goes to YIIM, SOLA Indonesia, and Tarumanagara University for the generous aid extended to our members. This support has been distributed to 100 beneficiaries, including children and family members who are living with physical disabilities, deafness, visual impairments, and Down syndrome.”
On the same occasion, Chairman of the YIIM Board, Chrisbiantoro, noted: “The enforcement of PPKM undoubtedly places a heavy economic burden on many citizens, including the families assisted by YDMI. We hope this assistance will ease their daily burdens and help our brothers and sisters navigate this difficult crisis safely.”
As a non-profit organization dedicated to humanitarian causes, YIIM remains open to collaboration with all partners and donors wishing to support meaningful community interventions. Every donation entrusted to YIIM is delivered directly, accountably, and transparently to vulnerable groups and marginalized beneficiaries. May this solidarity inspire broader compassion during these challenging times.
Salam Inspirasi!
