The Indonesian Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) together with principal partner PT Insight Investments Management organized the Skilled and Empowered Community Program (MATA) through culinary entrepreneurship training on May 6-8, 2026. Eighteen selected participants convened to immerse themselves in the food enterprise ecosystem, spanning culinary production techniques to market penetration strategies.

Throughout the three-day workshop, the curriculum balanced technical culinary craftsmanship with fundamental business management principles. In the practical kitchen sessions, participants mastered the preparation of artisanal risol pastry featuring contemporary, market-driven filling variations. This culinary expertise was coupled with rigorous food costing instruction, training emerging entrepreneurs to calculate cost of goods sold (COGS) and price products accurately to ensure viable and sustainable profit margins.

The training expanded into managerial competencies by fostering entrepreneurial resilience and modern marketing strategies. Participants learned to cultivate compelling product branding and harness digital channels to engage broader consumer audiences. This dual mastery of food quality standards and commercial acumen equips all 18 participants to confidently launch or expand independent home businesses within a competitive marketplace.

The program serves as an effective catalyst for establishing new micro-enterprises that strengthen household financial resilience. Equipped with essential business tools—from cost calculations to market segmentation—participants are empowered to navigate business challenges with agility. The high enthusiasm demonstrated throughout the workshop signals renewed optimism for sustainable local economic revitalization.

The Skilled and Empowered Community Program (MATA) is a cornerstone economic empowerment initiative of YIIM, dedicated to elevating community capacities through practical vocational skills and sustained micro-enterprise mentorship.

This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). It stands as a concrete manifestation of YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management’s joint commitment to deploying social investment funds for transformative grassroots socio-economic impact.
