Welcoming the blessings of the holy month of Ramadan, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) partnered with digital investment platform FUNDtastic and PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT), an investment management firm that has consistently championed social and humanitarian programs across Indonesia with YIIM.

On Monday, May 10, 2021, YIIM, INSIGHT, and FUNDtastic delivered comprehensive assistance comprising Islamic books, worship equipment, and staple food supplies for underprivileged students (santri) and caretakers at the Ibtidaul Hasan Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes), situated in Karang Tengah Village, Pagedangan District, Tangerang Regency, Banten.

This community initiative formed an integral part of the holy month campaign organized under the banner “Ramadan Inspiration for Humanity.”

The total assistance delivered was valued at IDR 15,000,000 (fifteen million rupiah), featuring worship essentials including 10 copies of the Holy Qur’an, 10 Iqro study books, 35 sarongs, 25 women’s prayer robes (mukena), and 3 rolls of prayer rugs for the prayer hall.

The package also included staple food supplies worth IDR 2,500,000—comprising rice, eggs, instant noodles, crackers, canned sardines, cooking oil, sugar, and tea—as well as book shelving and Islamic literature including 60 volumes of the Tafsir Jalalain commentary and books chronicling the lives of the prophets.

Ponpes Ibtidaul Hasan Karang Tengah is a traditional salaf pesantren providing free Quranic and Islamic classical literature (Kitab Kuning) education to children from economically disadvantaged households. Situated on approximately one hectare of land, the institution is led by revered local cleric, K.H. Romli.

Founded in the 1990s, the school currently shelters 60 resident students (35 boys and 25 girls), in addition to non-resident local learners. The dormitories and communal kitchen remain modest, semi-permanent bamboo structures that require ongoing infrastructural support.

The Covid-19 pandemic severely tested the resilience of traditional boarding schools. This outreach directly supported the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably Goal 1: No Poverty and Goal 2: Zero Hunger.

“We extend our sincere thanks to FUNDtastic, PT Insight Investments Management, and YIIM for this aid delivered to our 60 underprivileged students. These prayer supplies, food provisions, and tafsir books are deeply valuable for supporting our students’ education,” remarked K.H. Romli.

The donations were officially handed over by FUNDtastic representative Mrs. Anne and PT Insight Investments Management representative Mrs. Alifah, accompanied by YIIM Chairman Chrisbiantoro, to the school’s founder K.H. Romli.

“We are delighted to visit Ponpes Ibtidaul Hasan directly, build fellowship, and share joy in this blessed month of Ramadan. May this assistance prove deeply meaningful for all the students,” noted Mrs. Anne.

YIIM Chairman Chrisbiantoro expressed hopes that this outreach inspires continued solidarity: “We hope this aid supports the students’ spiritual practices and daily learning. The tafsir books and library shelves are intended to enrich the study sessions led by the teachers and students.”
