Emergency Relief Aid Distribution for Flash Flood Evacuees at SMP 1 Nubatukan Shelter, Lembata
Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), supported by PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT), mobilized emergency disaster relief packages comprising basic food staples and essential supplies for flash flood victims in Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara.

On April 20, 2021, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), in collaboration with its primary sponsor PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT), mobilized emergency humanitarian relief for communities stricken by devastating flash floods in Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province.
This rapid-response initiative aligns directly with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger, mitigating urgent nutritional vulnerabilities among displaced survivors.
The catastrophic flash floods that struck Lembata Regency in early April 2021 caused extensive devastation, destroying civilian dwellings, essential public infrastructure, and key road networks, while tragically claiming numerous lives.
Addressing this crisis, YIIM and INSIGHT delivered humanitarian aid packages to the SMP 1 Nubatukan Evacuation Post in Nubatukan District, Lembata. The facility accommodated 87 displaced families totaling 309 individuals. The supplies distributed included rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, eggs, infant formula, baby diapers, adult diapers, elderly nutrition milk, daily household supplies, and essential multivitamins.
The evacuees received this aid with profound gratitude, as the shelter had previously received limited donor attention. Field logistics and distributions were efficiently coordinated alongside local humanitarian advocate Feldin Rano Kellen.
Expressing the community’s relief, Feldin stated, "The survivors are deeply grateful for the thoughtful intervention of YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management. The supplies provided are invaluable for the displaced residents, many of whom lost their homes in this flash flood disaster. May YIIM and PT Insight always flourish."
Chairman of the YIIM Executive Board, Chrisbiantoro, affirmed: "We are deeply grateful for this opportunity to deliver assistance and partner with local authorities in supporting our brothers and sisters in Lembata. We sincerely hope this relief will ease the burden borne by the affected families."
Sharing a similar sentiment, INSIGHT representative Dwi Laksmi Anggita Sari (Gita) noted: "We at Insight are thankful to share and relieve the hardships faced by our fellow citizens. May the affected communities experience a swift recovery."
As a non-profit humanitarian institution, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun welcomes contributions and cross-sector partnerships from all parties. Every donation received is channeled directly to rightful recipients—including underprivileged families, Covid-19-impacted households, and natural disaster survivors—to foster resilience and restore communities across Indonesia.
Salam Inspirasi!
