On Thursday, 30 January 2025, the Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management (Insight IM) and the management of the Gema Mustika Insani Foundation (YGMI) inaugurated the Orphan and Dhuafa Dormitory Building of the Gema Mustika Insani Orphanage, located in Bulurejo Hamlet, Carangrejo Village, Sampung District, Ponorogo Regency, East Java.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mr. Sugiri Sancoko as the Regent of Ponorogo, representatives of the Ponorogo Social Services Office, representatives of the Ponorogo Tourism Office, representatives of Sampung District, Carangrejo Village officials, community leaders, and orphaned and underprivileged children. The inauguration event began at 13.00 WIB, starting with the recitation of the holy verses of the Qur’an and continued with remarks by Mr. Wijiyono as the Advisor of YGMI. This was followed by remarks and the inauguration of the Dormitory Building by Mr. Sugiri Sancoko, marked symbolically by cutting the ribbon and planting coconut seedlings as a philosophical symbol of a beneficial foundation for the community.

The construction assistance for phase I of the dormitory began in April 2024, and phase II construction began in August 2024 and was completed in December 2024. The dormitory building consists of 6 dormitory rooms, a kitchen, a living room, sanitation facilities including ablution areas and toilets, and a dormitory hall. At present, the Orphan Dormitory Building has benefited 30 orphaned and underprivileged children, who now reside in the dormitory. The construction of the dormitory building aims to create a decent living environment to ensure the survival of orphans and dhuafa for their future, to instill independence by providing skills, and to enable orphaned and underprivileged children to live in a cross-religious and cross-national environment.

This activity is part of YIIM’s Education Program and Social, Humanitarian, and Religious Program, which is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG No. 1 on ending poverty in all its forms everywhere, and SDG No. 4 on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.
