The fragrance and personal care industry is expanding rapidly, offering highly lucrative commercial prospects for micro-entrepreneurs. For vulnerable groups—including persons with disabilities, homemakers, and jobseekers—mastering the craft of perfume formulating provides a low-barrier, home-based pathway toward financial independence.

Inclusive vocational training affords an equitable platform where visually and physically impaired individuals can harness olfactory senses and artistic scent blending. Guided by experienced industry practitioners, participants learn professional formulation techniques along with practical marketing and financial management skills.

A cohort of 15 vulnerable individuals took part in the Perfume Formulation Entrepreneurship Workshop, instructed by an established retail perfumery owner. The curriculum encompassed raw scent identification, hands-on mixing across Eau De Parfum (EDP), Eau De Toilette (EDT), and Eau De Cologne (EDC) concentrations, and blind olfactory sniff evaluations.

Beyond laboratory formulation, participants were trained in unit cost accounting (COGS) and retail pricing strategies to launch resilient home enterprises. The workshop instilled renewed confidence and charted a tangible path toward household economic self-reliance.

This inclusive empowerment initiative directly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
