Distribution of Educational Books and School Supplies for Scavengers’ Children in East Ciputat
YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management donated storybooks, drawing books, and school stationery sets to 32 waste pickers' children at Rumah Kreatif Generasi Masa Depan in East Ciputat, South Tangerang. This aid supports learning continuity for children of informal workers.

On Friday, December 4, 2020, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), in collaboration with PT Insight Investments Management, conducted another humanitarian social service event dedicated to communities affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
On this occasion, YIIM and PT Insight distributed storybooks, fairy tales, Indonesian folklore anthologies, drawing books, and essential stationery items such as pencils and notebooks to 32 (thirty-two) children from marginalized families whose parents earn a living as scavengers and informal daily laborers.
These young beneficiaries are nurtured under the mentorship of Rumah Kreatif Generasi Masa Depan, situated in Pisangan Village, East Ciputat District, South Tangerang City, Banten Province.
Prior to distributing the aid, the YIIM field team performed thorough data verification and on-site assessments to ensure precise targeting. The educational materials proved invaluable, as these children had previously lacked access to adequate reading materials and proper schooling supplies.
Mistanto, Chairperson of Rumah Kreatif Generasi Masa Depan, expressed profound gratitude for the educational support provided: "These reading books are immensely beneficial in expanding the children’s reading horizons. We will make the absolute best use of this assistance to inspire our students to study more diligently and cultivate broader perspectives," he noted.
The handover ceremony strictly complied with health protocols, represented by a symbolic delegation of no fewer than 10 (ten) children.
YIIM representatives Juwati and Novia Seni Astriani actively managed health protocol enforcement on site by distributing protective masks, maintaining safe physical distancing, and ensuring that children returned safely to their homes immediately following the presentation.
Following the symbolic handover, Mistanto and the Rumah Kreatif team distributed the remaining books and supplies door-to-door to prevent public gatherings amidst the lingering risks of Covid-19 transmission.
YIIM representative Juwati stated: "Representing YIIM and PT Insight, we take immense pride in delivering this assistance to support the learning journey of the children here. These books are completely new, and we carefully selected reading materials and stationery tailored to their educational needs so they feel encouraged and motivated to study."
Echoing this sentiment, Novia Seni Astriani added: "The children were overjoyed, evident from the radiant smiles and enthusiasm on their faces upon receiving their new books and writing tools. We sincerely hope this support brings lasting benefits to their education."
This educational outreach directly supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality, Inclusive, and Equitable Education.
To date, YIIM and PT Insight remain firmly committed to strengthening the implementation of the SDGs as mandated by Presidential Regulation Number 59 of 2017 concerning the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Indonesia.
Salam Inspirasi!
