Ageng Patmoko: Building an Independent Barbershop to Support Family Economics
Ageng Patmoko mastered modern barbering techniques through YIIM and Insight's training, opening 'Ageng Barbershop' to sustain his family's livelihood.

Ageng Patmoko, a hardworking young man determined to overcome economic difficulties, found a pathway to long-term financial stability through the Barbershop Vocational Training program conducted by the Indonesian Inspiration Building Foundation (YIIM) and PT Insight Investments Management.
The program provided Ageng with intensive training in classic and contemporary men’s haircuts, fade blending, beard trimming, hair washing, head massaging, and hygienic tool sanitation. Recognizing his outstanding commitment, YIIM awarded Ageng a professional barber kit containing electric clippers, trimming shears, razors, capes, and styling pomades.
With these assets, Ageng established ‘Ageng Barbershop’ in his local neighborhood. His dedication to neat, trendy cuts and friendly customer service quickly built a loyal base of repeat patrons. The steady income from his shop now fully supports his family’s daily needs and savings.
Ageng’s journey demonstrates how focused vocational training turns raw potential into viable self-employment and community value.
His story advances SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.
Inspiration Greetings!
