Ayu Ihwana developing her beauty-service business

Ayu Ihwana, a resilient single mother, successfully built an independent beauty and bridal makeup enterprise after completing the Inclusive Makeup and Beauty Vocational Training conducted by the Indonesian Inspiration Building Foundation (YIIM) and PT Insight Investments Management.

Prior to joining the program, Ayu faced severe economic hardships while supporting her children through unstable freelance jobs. During the comprehensive training, Ayu acquired mastery in modern facial contouring, bridal makeup artistry, skincare treatments, and client consultation etiquette.

Upon graduation, Ayu received a professional makeup artist toolkit and business coaching from YIIM. Leveraging social media marketing and client referrals, Ayu established ‘Ayu Beauty Services’, delivering bridal makeup, graduation styling, and event beauty services across Greater Jakarta.

With her earnings, Ayu successfully secured her children’s education and achieved stable financial self-reliance. Her determination highlights the profound socio-economic impact of targeted vocational education for women.

Ayu’s journey advances SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 5: Gender Equality, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.
