Cultivating awareness of sustainable energy must start early with the next generation. As future decision-makers and community leaders, high school students occupy a vital position in embracing applied science, technological innovation, and practical environmental stewardship. Instilling these values early helps daily conservation habits take root as lifelong practices.
Addressing this priority, the Indonesian Inspiration Building Foundation joined forces with student innovators from Politeknik Negeri Jakarta to deliver an interactive educational workshop at SMAN 62 Jakarta on Friday, October 2, 2026. This collaborative session introduced the fundamentals of the green energy transition through clear, contextual discussions tailored to young learners.
Hands-On Exploration Through Clean Energy Prototypes
The learning session unfolded in the school hall, drawing enthusiastic participation from dozens of high school students and faculty members. Core topics covered essential forms of new and renewable energy, ranging from solar power to biomass conversion, alongside the role of daily energy efficiency in curbing carbon emissions.
To make technical concepts tangible, the PNJ student team brought functioning prototypes of renewable energy devices. This hands-on demonstration gave students an immediate view of energy conversion mechanisms, inviting them to examine the assembly process and explore how similar principles could function in their own homes and neighborhoods.
Student engagement was evident throughout the interactive question-and-answer session. Participants went beyond fundamental scientific principles to discuss actionable electricity conservation practices they could implement immediately at school and at home.
Intergenerational Collaboration for Practical Climate Action
For the participating university students, this outreach provided an authentic community service outlet to translate technical coursework into community education. University youth took on direct mentorship roles, bridging academic theory with high school classroom learning.
This joint initiative advances key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably quality education, affordable clean energy, and urgent climate action. Through sustained educational engagement, the program aims to prepare thoughtful, proactive young citizens equipped to protect our collective ecological future.
Salam Inspirasi!
