Kamal Eco Festival Spotlights Environmental Action and Children’s Literacy
Over 150 children and residents joined the Kamal Eco Festival featuring educational workshops, waste sorting competitions, storytelling, and mangrove planting in West Jakarta.

The Indonesian Inspiration Building Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management and the CT ARSA Foundation successfully held the Kamal Eco Festival in Kamal Muara, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.
The festival brought together more than 150 local children, parents, and community volunteers in an engaging full-day event combining environmental conservation awareness with fun literacy activities. Highlights included interactive eco-storytelling sessions, waste segregation games, creative upcycling workshops transforming plastic bottles into plant pots, and an exhibition of children’s environmental drawings.
In addition to educational booths, the festival featured a community mangrove planting drive along the coastal belt to help mitigate coastal erosion and restore coastal biodiversity.
Community leaders praised the festival’s vibrant atmosphere, noting that pairing literacy games with hands-on conservation instills lasting environmental consciousness in children from an early age.
This initiative aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 14: Life Below Water, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Inspiration Greetings!
