Share the word!

Addressing the critical threat of coastal abrasion and sea level rise, the Indonesian Inspiration Building Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management and the Pantai Bahagia Village Government organized the Festival Cinta Lingkungan Muara Gembong in Bekasi Regency, West Java.

Muara Gembong’s coastal shoreline has suffered severe land loss due to tidal flooding (rob) and mangrove deforestation over recent decades. During the festival, hundreds of local residents, youth volunteers, and partner representatives planted 3,000 Rhizophora mangrove saplings along degraded coastal barrier zones.

The festival also featured coastal clean-up operations, mangrove nursery training for local youth, and public discussions on sustainable mangrove ecotourism and crab aquaculture.

The Village Head of Pantai Bahagia praised the continuous conservation partnership, emphasizing that mangrove restoration is vital to protecting homes, fishponds, and community livelihoods from tidal destruction.

This program directly advances SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 14: Life Below Water, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

Inspiration Greetings!
