The Indonesia Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Pertamina Training and Consulting are always committed to supporting strengthening community independence through a series of inclusive and sustainable empowerment initiatives.
KBRN, Jakarta: PT Pertamina (Persero) subsidiary, PT Pertamina Training and Consulting (PTC), is again holding training for MSME players. Participants are prospective entrepreneurs or Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the coffee sector.
PTC Corporate Communication & CSR Assistant Manager, Olivia Steffina Lasut, revealed that the social entrepreneurship training activities initiated by her party have now entered their second year of implementation. After the previous year succeeded in producing more than 30 new entrepreneurs from various fields of entrepreneurial training.
“This barista training is training that is sought after, because coffee is now a lifestyle for Indonesian people. Those who like to consume coffee, so it is an opportunity for friends to study hard and practice it optimally,” he told journalists, Jakarta, Monday (5/9/2022).
Olivia said that training for coffee baristas or MSMEs is in collaboration with various parties. One of them is the Indonesia Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM).
“This year’s training focuses on advanced coffee barista training. By inviting 18 alumni from previous year’s training to strengthen their coffee mixing skills,” he said.
Olivia said that the activities were carried out in a hybrid manner, the first meeting was held online via Zoom. Meanwhile, offline training begins with discussion and review of previous training material.
“The selection method was implemented to obtain the best candidates as beneficiaries this year. By conducting pre and post tests as well as comprehensive evaluations from the trainers to the participants,” he said.
After passing the selection stage, Olivia explained, eight alumni would be selected. Then offline training will be provided at Kedai Kopi Inspirasi in the South Jakarta area.
“In practice, participants are given an understanding and procedures for using manual and machine coffee equipment. Explanation about the origin of coffee and its types found in Indonesia, as well as making latte art directly,” he said.
For offline training activities, Olivia said, participants also received coffee shop management training including calculations for starting a business. Determining the cost of goods sold for products, sales strategies and promotions.
“PT Pertamina Training and Consulting supports strengthening social entrepreneurship in society. By holding advanced coffee barista training, it can provide benefits as part of efforts to recover after the Covid-19 pandemic situation,” he said.
