PROMS Restores Coastal Habitat and Supports Sea Turtle Conservation in Ujung Genteng
Project on the Moves (PROMS), YIIM, and Insight planted coastal vegetation and released turtle hatchlings to safeguard Ujung Genteng's marine biodiversity.

The Indonesian Inspiration Building Foundation (YIIM) and PT Insight Investments Management, in collaboration with Project on the Moves (PROMS), conducted a comprehensive coastal conservation initiative at Pangumbahan Turtle Beach, Ujung Genteng, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.
The program focused on protecting the nesting habitat of endangered green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas) through coastal vegetation replanting, beach clean-up drives, and educational outreach on marine turtle conservation for coastal communities and local youth.
During the event, participants planted hundreds of native coastal barrier trees—including sea pandanus and casuarina trees—to prevent beach erosion and protect turtle nesting zones. The initiative culminated in the symbolic release of juvenile turtle hatchlings (tukik) into the Indian Ocean.
Local conservation rangers noted that collaborative efforts between non-profits, responsible corporate partners, and youth volunteer movements are essential to preserving Ujung Genteng’s vital role as a global turtle nesting sanctuary.
This environmental initiative aligns directly with SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 14: Life Below Water, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Inspiration Greetings!
