The Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) together with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) (LPSK) are always committed to supporting the strengthening of community independence through a series of inclusive and sustainable empowerment initiatives.

RMOL, Central Java. The Witness and Victim Protection Institute (LPSK) together with the Indonesia Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) held training on the economic empowerment of victims.

The training was attended by around 25 participants who were witnesses to victims of criminal acts to restore social and economic conditions.

Chairman of LPSK, Hasto Atmojo Suroyo, explained that LPSK is mandated by law to provide medical rehabilitation, psychological rehabilitation and psychosocial rehabilitation services.

“Providing social rehabilitation is a mandate in the provisions of Law (UU) Number 31 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 13 of 2006 concerning Protection of Witnesses and Victims,” ​​he explained to the media, Wednesday (2/12) afternoon.

Psychosocial rehabilitation, he continued, is a form of service that aims to restore the victim’s social function so that they can interact properly in their social environment.

“This social rehabilitation is aimed at ensuring that victims and their families can survive and recover,” he said.

One example is a victim of a crime. And the victim was the head of the family. Of course there were economic difficulties for his family.

For this reason, LPSK is obliged to help and facilitate so that the victim’s family can continue to carry out their daily lives. LPSK also collaborates with other parties to help, such as state institutions or private institutions.

“LPSK also collaborates with philanthropic institutions, state-owned companies to assist with capital,” he added.

LPSK itself has only held training 4 times. The first was held in Jakarta, Bali, Jogyakarta and Solo. The workshop materials also varied, including barista training, urban farming, beauty training for Bali bomb victims I and II. In Yogyakarta, tabulampot training and in Solo, barbershop and AC service training.

“After attending the training, it is hoped that it can raise the spirit of entrepreneurship in others. Because if not, the training will be in vain,” he concluded. [hen]
