Y4CA Equips 35 Young Leaders to Champion Climate Action and Advocacy

Thirty-five youth climate advocates from across West Java joined the Youth for Climate Action (Y4CA) bootcamp to lead grassroots environmental and policy initiatives.

Youth climate advocacy training in Bandung

The Indonesian Inspiration Building Foundation (YIIM), PT Insight Investments Management, and the Climate Change Center organized the Youth for Climate Action (Y4CA) Leadership Bootcamp in Bandung, West Java, equipping 35 young changemakers with critical skills in environmental advocacy and climate communication.

Over three intensive days, participants engaged in interactive workshops exploring climate science fundamentals, carbon footprint auditing, environmental policy analysis, digital advocacy storytelling, and community-led adaptation projects. The curriculum emphasized actionable methodologies for engaging local government stakeholders and mobilizing grassroots youth participation.

During the program, participants developed collaborative action plans addressing local ecological challenges, including plastic waste reduction, mangrove conservation, urban farming, and river basin restoration.

Program leaders emphasized that empowering youth with scientific grounding and communication skills is vital to driving effective, long-term climate resilience across Indonesia.

The Y4CA initiative directly supports SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 14: Life Below Water, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
