Y4CA Youth and Partners Plant 800 Trees for a Greener Semarang
YIIM, Insight Investments Management, and LindungiHutan planted 800 avocado trees in Jabungan, combining youth climate action with soil conservation, carbon capture, and farmer income potential.

As a continuation of the Youth for Climate Action (Y4CA) Batch 2 program, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), PT Insight Investments Management, and LindungiHutan planted 800 avocado tree seedlings on August 20, 2025, in Jabungan Village, Banyumanik, Semarang.
Carrying the theme “Empowering Youth for Climate Action,” this initiative combined ecological restoration with economic empowerment for local farming communities.
Avocado trees were chosen for their deep root systems that stabilize hillside soil, preventing erosion and landslide risks, while simultaneously providing high-value fruit harvests that can boost farmers’ household income by up to 23% once mature.
Over 140,000 nearby residents are projected to benefit environmentally from enhanced watershed retention, improved soil stability, and carbon sequestration.
The tree planting was executed in collaboration with local farmers’ groups, youth volunteers, and community leaders who will oversee tree maintenance and growth monitoring.
This initiative contributes directly to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 15: Life on Land.
Inspiration Greetings!
