The booming barbershop business promises profitable opportunities, increasing the demand for hairdressers or barbers. However, there are still few skilled workers able to meet this demand. With the mission of imparting knowledge and skills to create job opportunities and nurture entrepreneurs, this training is one of the programs that can produce independent and productive human resources, aimed at continuously improving individual well-being.

The high cost of training was also a key consideration for the management, in line with the mission of Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun. Participants who complete the training can be placed in existing barbershops, or they can start their own business as mobile barbers.

– Sekolah Barbershop Inspirasi

Building on the points above, we launched Sekolah Barbershop Inspirasi, which provides free barber school. Through this program, participants can train their skills until they are proficient without spending a single rupiah.

The challenge in this activity was the limited number of models. We addressed this by offering free haircuts to elementary and junior high school students, allowing us to get more models. The more models available, the more experience participants gain in cutting different head shapes and hairstyles.

For our training, we also partnered with Susilo Wardoyo, the owner of Rapih Jali, who served as facilitator and supervisor for the development of each participant.

From Susilo, we received weekly reports on the discipline, skills, and income of Barbershop Inspirasi.
