The Indonesian Inspirational Development Foundation (YIIM), supported by Insight Investments Management, once again presented a learning space for the younger generation through YIIM Webinar Series 3, which raised the theme of “Building Financial Foundations Early.” The online event, held on March 12, 2026, featured Riva Kusumo as a speaker who shared insights on the importance of financial literacy for young people.

Through this session, participants were invited to understand how good financial management can serve as an important foundation for building a more stable future. Riva emphasized that financial literacy is not only about saving or investing, but also about understanding how to manage income and expenses wisely.

In her presentation, Riva explained the importance of the concept of delay of gratification, which is the ability to postpone immediate pleasure in exchange for greater financial goals in the future. In addition, she also highlighted the importance of cash flow management as a basic step for individuals to manage their finances in a more planned manner.

Riva also introduced various roles in the investment management industry, such as institutional dealer, sales trader, and investment specialist. She explained that the financial industry offers various attractive career opportunities, but also requires a solid understanding of the investment world as well as continuous competency development.

In addition, participants also gained an overview of the importance of professional certifications in the financial sector, such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Qualified Wealth Planner (QWP), which can serve as added value for individuals aspiring to pursue a career in the finance and investment sector.

This webinar was attended by 33 participants from various backgrounds, the majority of whom were university students and young people preparing to enter the workforce. Throughout the activity, participants showed great enthusiasm through interactive discussions and a question-and-answer session with the speaker, which they used to explore more deeply about personal financial management and career opportunities in the financial industry.

Through this activity, YIIM hopes that the younger generation will increasingly understand the importance of building a financial foundation early on, enabling them to make wiser financial decisions and prepare for a better future.
