On July 27, 2022, the Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun Foundation (YIIM) and PT. Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT), in collaboration with the Muara Angke Traditional Fishermen Community, organized a social and educational program consisting of providing reading books and stationery to the children of traditional fishermen in Muara Angke, North Jakarta.

This activity is part of a series of educational and social assistance programs for children to commemorate National Children’s Day, which fell on July 23, 2022. This program aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG number 1 on No Poverty, number 2 on Zero Hunger (reducing poverty), and number 4 on Quality Education.

The assistance provided consisted of 50 packages containing stationery such as pencils, pens, books, colored pencils, children’s snacks, and 50 reading books including children’s storybooks and drawing books. This assistance was handed directly to 50 children of traditional fishermen in Muara Angke at 16:30 WIB at the residential area of the traditional fishing community in Muara Angke, North Jakarta, DKI Jakarta province.

Present at this assistance program were Mr. Achmad Fanani Rosyidi, Program Manager of YIIM, and Mr. Khalil, a representative of the Muara Angke Traditional Fishermen Community.

On that occasion, Mr. Achmad Fanani Rosyidi, Program Manager of YIIM, stated, “In commemoration of National Children’s Day, YIIM, supported by PT INSIGHT, distributed a small amount of educational and social assistance and gifts for the children of the Muara Angke fishing community. We hope that the fishing community residents will welcome this assistance and that it will be beneficial.”

Mr. Suluh T Rahardjo, CSR Coordinator of PT INSIGHT, also stated, “We are very grateful to be able to share with the children of the traditional fishing community in Muara Angke. This assistance represents one of PT Insight’s concerns, part of INSIGHT’s commitment, which is transforming investments into social impact. We hope that this assistance can provide benefits for children in need.”

Mr. Khalil, as a representative of the Muara Angke Traditional Fishermen Community, stated, “Thank you YIIM and PT. INSIGHT for the books and stationery assistance. The children here are very happy and enthusiastic when this assistance was given. We hope this assistance is useful for the children of the Kaliadem fishermen, Muara Angke, and we hope that in the future we can collaborate to improve the education of the children of the Kaliadem fishermen, Muara Angke.”

As a non-profit organization, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun is open to all parties who wish to support or donate in any form. Thus, more components of the nation can participate in improving the literacy of Indonesian children.
