On April 19, 2021, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), with the steadfast support of its principal sponsor PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT), organized a social outreach mission aimed at fostering children’s literacy in remote regions, specifically in Wamena, Papua Province.

Through this educational venture, YIIM and INSIGHT donated library bookshelves and an extensive curation of educational books to benefit 24 children sheltered by the Generasi Anak Panah Halfway House (Rumah Singgah Generasi Anak Panah) in Wamena, Papua.

This program embodies the dedication of YIIM and INSIGHT toward achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, ensuring inclusive and equitable learning opportunities for all children.

The children under the care of this shelter originate from economically marginalized backgrounds, receiving foundational mentorship, character building, and formal schooling facilitated entirely by the Generasi Anak Panah shelter.

The literacy aid comprised general encyclopedias, primary and junior high school textbooks, inspiring character-building novels, national history books, and illustrated children’s storybooks, totaling a program value of IDR 10,000,000.

This intervention was prompted by the acute educational isolation faced by children in Wamena, where public library facilities and affordable literature remain scarce. Exorbitant book prices—driven by high inter-island freight and logistics expenses—have historically placed reading materials out of reach for local children.

The bookshelves and books were formally handed over to Mr. Neri Payage, person in charge of the Generasi Anak Panah Halfway House.

Gratefully receiving the supplies, Mr. Payage stated, "Our sincere gratitude to YIIM and INSIGHT for their kind attention to the youth in Wamena. Book prices here are exceptionally high, making this donation a vital blessing for our children. May God bless the kindness of everyone involved."

Mr. Payage noted that the children received the books with exuberant enthusiasm, eagerly instituting a collective nightly reading hour as their favorite new routine.
