On December 19, 2020, the Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun Foundation (YIIM), supported by its main partner PT. Insight Investment Management, distributed 100 packages of basic food and vitamins to communities affected by Covid-19 in Tengah – Tengah Village, Salahutu District, Central Maluku Regency, Maluku Province.

The basic food packages provided consisted of rice, eggs, cooking oil, instant noodles, granulated sugar, milk, and vitamins.

This program is part of YIIM’s social assistance and humanitarian program and aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal Number 2 to reduce hunger.

The distribution of this assistance was also motivated by the condition of the local community who struggled to make a living due to the impacts of Covid-19.

Most of the population in Central Maluku works as farmers, fishermen, and some work as motorcycle taxi drivers and jibu-jibu (fish traders in the market).

However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the local economy weakened, purchasing power declined drastically, and some communities were less reached by social assistance.

In its implementation, YIIM was assisted by a local social activist, Sabri Leurima.

During the distribution of basic food packages, Sabri expressed his gratitude to YIIM and PT. Insight Investment Management: “The community is very grateful and thankful to YIIM and PT. Insight Investment Management. In conditions like this pandemic, we have difficulty meeting our daily needs, and YIIM has provided basic food assistance that is very beneficial for the residents here.”

YIIM as a non-profit organization together with its partner PT. Insight Investments Management will continue to encourage the community to participate in easing the burden of affected communities so that together we can overcome the impacts of Covid-19 with a spirit of sharing and mutual cooperation. Considering that this Covid-19 pandemic is still sweeping across the archipelago.

Salam Inspirasi!
