The Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) together with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) (LPSK) are always committed to supporting the strengthening of community independence through a series of inclusive and sustainable empowerment initiatives.

CO.ID, BADUNG — The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) as the coordinator of counterterrorism is taking concrete action to provide support to survivors of terrorism. As proof, BNPT in collaboration with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) (LPSK) continues to provide assistance and assistance to witnesses and victims of criminal acts of terrorism.

This effort was realized through holding Self Love Training and Social Entrepreneurship Training Orientation for survivors in Legian, Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali Province, Wednesday (13/10). The training, which was attended by 90 participants, 50 offline and 40 online from Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, East Java, and Central Sulawesi, was supported by the Indonesian Building Inspiration Foundation (YMII), Peach Generation Indonesia, and UNODC.

Head of BNPT, Komjen Boy Rafli Amar, explained that BNPT’s support in this training is a form of BNPT’s presence by providing physical, psychological, social and financial strengthening to survivors. The goal is for them to recover from past sorrows and plan for a better future.

“This program is aimed at providing strengthening, empowerment and recovery to victims so that they have work skills and are able to open entrepreneurship in the community, this is a concrete form of our concern for survivors,” said Boy in Badung Regency, Bali.

BNPT has also formed a Survivors’ Friendship Forum (Forsitas) which aims to increase collaboration and communication between victims (survivors) of terrorism and to strengthen each other. BNPT hopes that this forum will continue to be a forum for all terrorism survivors to exchange information and strengthen collaboration with all stakeholders.

LPSK Chairman Hasto Atmojo Suroyo explained that this activity was the first step in a series of psychosocial activities for entrepreneurship training for the recovery of crime victims. The event, which is scheduled to be held in November 2021, takes the form of entrepreneurial training as a barista and a frozen food business.

Hasto hopes that the participants can take the training seriously. This is because by following the training, they have the provisions to return to life in society.

Through this synergy and initiative, the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) hopes that the programs implemented can provide real benefits, open up wider opportunities for independence for participants, and actively contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
