On Saturday, January 7, 2023, the Follow-Up Collaborative Action to Reduce Stunting in Baduy was carried out. This activity is part of stunting reduction monitoring that will take place over the next 12 months in the Baduy area.

The Follow-Up Collaborative Action on Stunting was held at SDN 2 Bojongmenteng, Kp. Ciboleger, Bojong Menteng, Leuwidamar District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province. It was attended by Mr. Firdaus Rosean Rony as Director of the Telemonitoring Project, Mr. Arry Yanuar as Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Indonesia, Professor Alhadi Bustamam as Head of the Fundus Retina Project, Mr. Dede Herdiansyah as Head of the Cisimeut Public Health Center, Mr. Jaro Saija as a Baduy Traditional Leader, Mr. Isnaeni Setiawan as CSR Coordinator at INSIGHT, and Mrs. Riccana Rosita as a YIIM administrator.

This was followed by the symbolic handover of an ultrasound device and digital height-measuring equipment from Professor Arry’s team to Mr. Dede. Mr. Dede stated, “We are very grateful to all parties involved in organizing the collaborative action to reduce stunting in Baduy. It should be noted that data from the Cisimeut Public Health Center in 2022 recorded 5 pregnant women who passed away, 4 of whom were from the Baduy area. We hope that this support will continue, and hopefully the benefits can be felt by the Baduy community in particular and the Cisimeut Public Health Center community in general. Thank you also to INSIGHT and YIIM for their participation and support in the follow-up collaborative action on stunting.”

After the ceremony, health examinations were conducted for pregnant women, children, and retinal screening. The examinations were divided into two rooms: one for pregnant women and one for children and retinal screening. The examinations for pregnant women were carried out by Midwife Eros Rosita, the Baduy area midwife, and her team using the ultrasound device that had been provided. A total of 21 pregnant women from the Baduy community and the general public were examined. For retinal screening, 12 people were examined, including Jaro Saija as the Head of Baduy Village, who received a health check from the Retina Fundus Stunting team of RSUI. Then, children’s examinations, such as height and weight measurements using digital scales, were conducted. A total of 14 children were examined.
