On November 19, 2020, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), alongside its primary partner PT Insight Investments Management, distributed 150 relief packages containing staple food, vitamins, and protective masks to communities affected by Covid-19 across Aceh Province.

This humanitarian delivery reached 7 (seven) regions within Aceh Province: Aceh Besar Regency, North Aceh Regency, East Aceh Regency, Pidie Regency, Bireuen Regency, Lhokseumawe City, and Langsa City. The food packages comprised essential provisions including rice, eggs, cooking oil, granulated sugar, milk, multivitamins, and facial masks.

This initiative represents a continuing collaboration between YIIM and the Aceh Truth and Reconciliation Commission (KKR Aceh) to advance the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.

The beneficiaries were conflict survivors and vulnerable groups overseen by KKR Aceh who have historically faced significant barriers in accessing public social assistance. Many are single parents enduring severe economic hardship, informal casual workers, or individuals who suffered job termination (PHK), making it exceptionally difficult to sustain basic daily necessities during the pandemic.

During the distribution, Muhamad Daud Berueh, Commissioner of KKR Aceh, conveyed his deep gratitude: "The food aid provided by Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun provides critical support for survivors under KKR Aceh’s care. Moving forward, KKR Aceh hopes YIIM can also provide business empowerment programs to cultivate sustainable self-reliance for survivors amid this ongoing pandemic."

Daud added: "Furthermore, we hope YIIM’s meaningful initiative will inspire and motivate other civil society organizations focused on social and human rights issues to undertake similar supportive actions."

This social assistance directly aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger, mitigating acute vulnerability to food insecurity as the socioeconomic repercussions of Covid-19 continue to ripple across the Indonesian archipelago.

Chrisbiantoro, Chairperson of YIIM, stated: "This aid reflects YIIM’s tangible dedication, generously backed by PT Insight Investments Management. We are steadfast in mobilizing our capacity to extend a helping hand to our brothers and sisters impacted by the pandemic throughout the country."

Expressing her heartfelt appreciation, Dwi Laksmi Anggita Sari (Gita) of PT Insight Investments Management noted: "We pray that this assistance brings tangible relief and blessings, empowering all of us to navigate through this Covid-19 pandemic in good health and resilience."

Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia, YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management have consistently fostered community-driven initiatives to overcome adversity through the spirit of mutual cooperation and solidarity.

Salam Inspirasi!
