The Foundation for Inspiring Indonesia’s Development (YIIM), through its Education Program Pillar, joined forces with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) and CT ARSA Foundation to organize an environmental education and literacy initiative entitled “ARSA Adventure: Guarding the Earth, Championing Literacy” (Petualangan ARSA: Jaga Bumi, Jago Literasi). The program was formulated to educate communities, especially the younger generation, on the paramount importance of ecological stewardship while fostering sustainable behavioral habits from an early age. Furthermore, this initiative represents PT INSIGHT’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL/CSR) commitment to advancing early-stage educational opportunities across Indonesia.

The ARSA Adventure: Guarding the Earth, Championing Literacy initiative comprised comprehensive milestone activities conducted between November and December 2023. The scheduled itinerary encompassed an environmental and applied science learning tour (EDUTRIP), community empowerment workshops, and a culminating localized green festival (ECO-FEST KAMAL 2023). The program directly engaged 50 kindergarten and primary school-aged children mentored by the CT ARSA Literacy Center in Kamal, West Jakarta.

On November 22, 2023, the experiential EDUTRIP module was successfully convened at Sendalu Permaculture, Jalan Persahabatan No. 67, Sukmajaya, Depok City, West Java. The gathering was attended by Mr. Gatut Mukti, General Manager of CT ARSA Foundation; Mr. Isnaeni Setiawan, CSR Coordinator of PT Insight Investments Management; Raihan Zahrah, YIIM Program Officer; and Mr. Gibran, representing Sendalu Permaculture. The session was inaugurated by Mr. Gatut Mukti, followed by warm welcoming remarks delivered by Mr. Isnaeni Setiawan.

In his address, Mr. Isnaeni Setiawan outlined: “In alignment with PT Insight Investments Management’s corporate vision of ‘Transforming Investments into Social Impact’, INSIGHT collaborates with CT ARSA Foundation and YIIM to invest in the future of our young generation through engaging, enjoyable environmental and literacy education. We hope all participating children embrace these activities enthusiastically and take home meaningful, lasting knowledge.” Following the remarks, a symbolic presentation of support was handed over to the leadership of Sendalu Permaculture and child beneficiary representatives.

The EDUTRIP module was structured to offer children rich firsthand experiential learning outdoors. Participants learned about plant anatomy, organic compost preparation, botanical maintenance, herbal plant utilization, and eco-crafts. The children navigated five imaginative discovery posts: Magic Seeds Post, Plant Fertilizer Magic Post, Fairy Water Stream Post, Harvest Magic and Potion Making Post, and Creative Fairies Post. At each station, children did not merely observe theoretical lessons; they engaged in practical exercises ranging from potting mint saplings to preparing organic soil enhancers.

Upon completing the circuit, the young participants enthusiastically shared their impressions, expressing genuine joy at acquiring practical skills regarding plant care and environmental preservation. This educational endeavor directly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). As a non-profit foundation established by dedicated social advocates, YIIM remains widely receptive to partnerships and contributions from all sectors to foster holistic community welfare.
