On Saturday, March 12, 2021, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), supported by primary sponsor PT Insight Investments Management (PT IIM), delivered social assistance packages to children residing at the Giri Asih Melaya Orphanage, situated on Jalan Raya Denpasar–Gilimanuk, Melaya District, Jembrana Regency, Bali Province.

The relief provisions included reusable beverage tumblers, educational reading books, wall calendars, pens, medical face masks, and hand sanitizers.

Established on March 4, 1963, under the auspices of the Sumber Kasih Foundation Denpasar, the Giri Asih Melaya Christian Orphanage has operated for over half a century, graduating numerous alumni who have gone on to serve as prominent community leaders.

At present, the orphanage shelters and guides approximately 100 children, most of whom are full orphans or have lost one parent. Among them, 32 children reside full-time within the on-campus dormitory, while over 50 others are supported through foster family networks in surrounding areas.

Amid the pandemic, the home struggled to cover daily basic living costs, as Giri Asih historically relies upon voluntary donations from the public to provide essentials for its resident children.

This social support mission aligns directly with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 1: No Poverty and SDG 2: Zero Hunger.

The packages were presented in person by YIIM Board of Trustees member Merry T.P. Hutagalung, accompanied by YIIM Executive Board Chairman Chrisbiantoro, to the head caregiver of Giri Asih, Mr. Purwanto.

Expressing his gratitude during the handover, Mr. Purwanto remarked, "We offer our heartfelt thanks to YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management for the kind aid given to our foster children. May YIIM and PT Insight continue to prosper, and may our ties of fellowship endure far into the future."

"We hope that going forward, Giri Asih Orphanage can continue to collaborate with YIIM and PT Insight to cultivate socioeconomic initiatives, particularly in empowering our youth with practical vocational skills," added Purwanto.

YIIM Chairman Chrisbiantoro expressed optimism that this meeting would mark the dawn of an inspiring partnership. While the current assistance represents an initial gesture, it carries the potential to inspire broader communal solidarity.

"This humanitarian initiative is one of our flagship programs to inspire more individuals and organizations to share kindness. We pray that Giri Asih Orphanage remains steadfast in nurturing these children into productive citizens who contribute meaningfully to the nation," Chrisbiantoro affirmed.

Looking ahead, YIIM hopes to forge a strategic collaboration with Giri Asih Orphanage, focusing on vocational coaching and social entrepreneurship programs to strengthen the institution’s long-term self-sufficiency.
