The Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun Foundation (YIIM), in collaboration with PT. Insight Investment Management, once again conducted a social service for communities affected by Covid-19 across the archipelago.

This time, the distribution of basic food packages, vitamins, and masks was delivered to 100 families in Biak, Papua Province.

The distribution of this basic food assistance was motivated by the condition of the local community, which had not yet been reached by aid access.

The basic food packages provided consisted of rice, eggs, cooking oil, granulated sugar, instant noodles, milk, tea, coffee, and vitamins. The assistance was distributed at six (6) locations, namely;

1. Ambroben Village, Biak Kota District

2. Ruar Village, East Biak District

3. Ibdi Village, East Biak District

4. Afefbo Village, East Biak District

5. Saukobye Village, North Biak District

6. Owi Island Village, East Biak District

The beneficiaries of this program were elderly people aged over 55 years, informal women workers, and underprivileged communities.

This basic food package distribution program aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly goal number 2, to reduce hunger and poverty. It is also hoped that the Biak community affected by Covid-19 can meet their daily needs for the coming month.

In terms of community data collection and aid distribution, YIIM was assisted by Imanuel Rumayom from the Biak Legal Aid Institute.

During the distribution of aid, Imanuel expressed his gratitude to YIIM and PT. Insight Investment Management, “Thank you to YIIM and PT. Insight Investment Management for the basic food assistance for our residents; the community is very happy and grateful, may God always bless us.”

The representative of PT. Insight Investments Management, Dwi Anggita Laksmi, on this occasion expressed support and hope that the series of social assistance distributions supported by PT. Insight could ease the burden on affected communities.

Gita said, “May our brothers and sisters in Biak feel the spirit of sharing from PT. Insight and YIIM. May everyone be granted health.”

Meanwhile, the representative of YIIM, Novia Seni Astriani, who oversaw the basic food assistance program for Biak, conveyed that this assistance is expected to help support local food security.

This program once again reaffirms the consistency and commitment of PT. Insight Investments Management through its CSR program with the Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun Foundation, particularly in working side by side and strengthening one another in handling the Covid-19 pandemic.
