On May 7, 2021, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), in collaboration with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT), distributed staple food packages to the Cot Ulee Lueng Women’s Empowerment Group in Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh Province.

This humanitarian outreach reflects INSIGHT’s core ethos of “transforming investments into positive social impact.” In close partnership with YIIM, this philanthropic vision has been actively realized since 2014 through diverse community programs across the Indonesian archipelago.

The Cot Ulee Lueng Women’s Empowerment Group gathers female household heads and single mothers from underprivileged families, all of whom balance the dual roles of breadwinner and family caregiver.

Most group members make a modest living by selling food items or sewing clothes. Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, their micro-enterprises suffered significant revenue declines due to reduced community purchasing power.

To ease this economic hardship, YIIM and INSIGHT delivered staple food packages to 70 women members of the Cot Ulee Lueng group. Valued at IDR 250,000 per package, the provisions included rice, instant noodles, eggs, cooking oil, sugar, wheat flour, biscuits, and protective face masks.

This food assistance initiative corresponds with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 2: Zero Hunger and Improved Food Security.

The packages were distributed on-site by Mrs. Ainal Mardiah, Commissioner of the Aceh Truth and Reconciliation Commission (KKR Aceh), who serves as mentor to the Cot Ulee Lueng Women’s Empowerment Group.

Mrs. Ainal stated: “Our profound gratitude goes to YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management for stepping forward to lighten the burdens of these resilient mothers. They are deeply thankful and joyful. During this pandemic, the compassion of donors is truly lifeline support. We hope this collaboration between YIIM and KKR Aceh to advance local economic self-reliance will continue. Continued success to YIIM and INSIGHT.”

Secretary of the YIIM Board, Dewi Astari, commended the successful distribution: “We are honored to share blessings during this holy month of Ramadan under our theme, ‘Ramadan Inspiration for Humanity,’ honoring human dignity. May this aid bring real relief and warmth to these mothers and their households.”

As a non-profit foundation, YIIM remains committed to fostering partnerships with donors and institutional allies. Every donation received is channeled directly, accountably, and transparently to those in greatest need, including low-income households, disaster- and pandemic-affected populations, correctional clients, and marginalized communities nationwide.

Salam Inspirasi!
