In commemoration of National Heroes’ Day on November 10, 2020, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), in collaboration with PT Insight Investments Management, distributed humanitarian relief packages to Indonesian independence war veterans, comprising staple foods, protective masks, immune-boosting multivitamins, and specialized nutritional milk for the elderly.

This social service initiative directly benefited 100 (one hundred) veteran fighters of the Republic of Indonesia residing across South Tangerang City and Tangerang City, held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, starting at 08:00 WIB until completion.

This intervention forms an essential part of an ongoing nationwide humanitarian roadmap conducted by YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management, extending relief to remote corners such as Nias Island, Talaud, East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara, Bali, Papua, and other provinces since July 2020.

As responsible civic actors, YIIM and PT Insight recognize that the socioeconomic impacts of Covid-19 have deeply affected not only public health but also household food stability, particularly for elderly war veterans. Thus, this initiative aimed to alleviate the living burdens of these national heroes during an unprecedented health crisis.

Chrisbiantoro, Chairperson of YIIM, stated: "This humanitarian outreach is a sincere expression of reverence from YIIM and our partners to commemorate the monumental sacrifices of our veteran fighters. Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, these senior veterans face heightened vulnerabilities, making their health and livelihood well-being a shared national responsibility."

"We understand that all sectors are strained by Covid-19, but our veteran heroes undoubtedly deserve our utmost collective care and compassion," Chrisbiantoro affirmed.

Reflecting on National Heroes’ Day, Chrisbiantoro called on the younger generation to consistently study Indonesia’s historic journey and honor the heroic sacrifices that shaped the nation. "The youth must never forget the selfless devotion of our heroes who fought courageously to secure our independence," he emphasized.

Speaking on behalf of PT Insight Investments Management, Head of Research Suluh T Rahardjo emphasized the company’s gratitude: "These independence veterans contributed immeasurable sacrifices to defend Indonesia’s freedom. They are our true champions who laid everything on the line for our sovereignty, and honoring them is our profound duty."

The successful execution of this humanitarian program was further supported through collaborative partnerships with the Tangerang Raya Student Communication Forum, the Veterans Legion of the Republic of Indonesia (LVRI), and Pemuda Panca Marga.
