The dramatic escalation of Covid-19 infections across Indonesia forced many affected citizens to undergo home self-isolation (isoman) amid severe economic strain and limited mobility.

In response to this emergency, on Thursday, July 22, 2021, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), in collaboration with the Student Executive Board of the Medical Student Association of Universitas Indonesia (BEM IKM FK UI), distributed 20 emergency relief packages containing staple food groceries, vitamins, and protective face masks to residents self-isolating in Muara Baru, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

This humanitarian distribution was financed through a dedicated charitable fundraising campaign conducted as part of the 2021 Liga Medika organized by BEM IKM FK UI.

The fundraising campaign successfully collected IDR 4,532,300 (four million five hundred thirty-two thousand three hundred rupiah), which was fully deployed to procure 20 relief packages comprising nutritious groceries, immune-boosting vitamins, and medical face masks.

As a trusted non-profit foundation, YIIM is dedicated to managing and channeling public social funds transparently, particularly through emergency humanitarian interventions. This joint relief effort with BEM IKM FK UI targeted low-income households that temporarily lost their daily livelihoods while quarantining at home.

Amidst the strict enforcement of Emergency Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM Darurat), countless vulnerable households in Jakarta faced acute economic distress. This relief distribution served as a crucial demonstration of civic solidarity: providing an avenue for those with means to uplift neighbors battling illness and poverty.

The emergency grocery, vitamin, and mask packages were formally received on site by Mrs. Eni Rochayati, representing the residents of Muara Baru.

During the handover, Mrs. Eni Rochayati expressed: "During these exceptionally difficult times, on behalf of our community, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to YIIM and BEM FK UI for providing these staple groceries, vitamins, and masks for our residents currently self-isolating and fighting to regain health. This assistance is immensely helpful, especially since quarantining residents cannot leave their homes to secure basic daily needs. May YIIM continue supporting communities through the hardships of this pandemic, and may the entire YIIM team always be blessed with good health."

This emergency food and health provision aligns directly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG 2: Zero Hunger and Food Security.
