Emergency Food Relief, Vitamins, and Masks Distribution for Dayak Indigenous Communities in West Kutai
YIIM, alongside PT Insight Investments Management, distributed 100 humanitarian relief packages containing groceries, multivitamins, and masks to Dayak indigenous communities in West Kutai, East Kalimantan. This relief bolstered food security for remote interior villagers during the Covid-19 pandemic.

On October 23 and 24, 2020, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), in strategic cooperation with PT Insight Investments Management, distributed 100 humanitarian packages containing staple food, vitamins, and protective masks to indigenous communities affected by Covid-19 in Tering Baru Village and Kalian Luar Village, West Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan Province.
PT Insight Investments Management maintains an enduring commitment to addressing humanitarian challenges across Indonesia, manifesting the company’s guiding mission of *"Transforming Investment into Social Impact"*. The food aid was channeled to two distinct indigenous Dayak communities in the interior of East Kalimantan:
- Dayak Bahau Bateeq Customary Community in Tering Baru Village, Tering District, West Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan Province. The aid packages were received directly by the village head (*Petinggi Kampung*) on October 23, 2020, and subsequently distributed to 50 vulnerable households.
- Dayak Bahau Busang Customary Community in Kalian Luar Village, Long Iram District, West Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan Province. Situated along the remote boundary between West Kutai and Mahakam Ulu Regencies, the supplies were officially handed over to the Customary Chief (*Kepala Adat*) of Dayak Bahau Busang on October 24, 2020, and distributed alongside village elders to 50 families in need.
Each humanitarian package included rice, instant noodles, eggs, cooking oil, canned milk, biscuits, sugar, and multivitamins. The beneficiaries were indigenous families severely affected by the economic consequences of Covid-19 who had previously been unreachable by government social relief programs due to extreme distances and arduous, rugged terrain.
To ensure transparent and effective ground distribution, YIIM partnered with a reputable local environmental and civil society group in East Kalimantan, Yayasan Bumi. Erma Wulandari, Executive Director of Yayasan Bumi, voiced deep gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries: "Our heartfelt thanks go to YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management. This support is immensely meaningful for our community, who have long faced severe difficulties in accessing public aid. We sincerely hope this compassionate partnership continues into the future."
This initiative represents YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management’s ongoing mission to inspire public generosity during the Covid-19 pandemic. Satoto Biratmoko, representing YIIM’s management board, remarked: "We hope this initiative inspires collective empathy to reach out to our brothers and sisters across the archipelago, especially those left isolated due to challenging geographic realities."
Concurring with this vision, Dwi Laksmi Anggita Sari of PT Insight Investments Management expressed sincere gratitude, hoping that this humanitarian outreach will catalyze broader collaborative efforts to uplift underserved communities.
Salam Inspirasi!
