Food Supplies, School Kits, and Operational Aid Handover for Gloria Matahit Orphanage in Talaud Islands
YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management delivered essential groceries and daily supplies to orphans and caretakers at Gloria Matahit Orphanage in Talaud Islands Regency, North Sulawesi, addressing hardships caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

On September 26, 2020, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), in collaboration with PT Insight Investments Management (PT IIM), delivered targeted humanitarian aid to communities impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, extending support to the Gloria Matahit Orphanage located in the Talaud Islands Regency, North Sulawesi Province.
This intervention addressed the critical needs of orphaned children struggling under the socioeconomic strain of the Covid-19 pandemic. Situated in an isolated border area, the orphanage had encountered severe constraints in accessing external aid and had remained outside regular government support programs. Historically, the institution has relied almost entirely on voluntary contributions from local churches, which themselves face limited financial and logistical resources.
Gloria Matahit Orphanage is the sole orphanage serving Talaud Island. As one of Indonesia’s outermost border island regions in the northern archipelago, reaching the island requires an arduous sea voyage of nearly 17 hours by boat from the provincial capital of Manado.
Overcoming these geographic challenges, YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management delivered a comprehensive support package designed for the 16 resident children. The aid included staple food provisions (eggs, rice, cooking oil, sugar, noodles, milk, and nutritious snacks), personal hygiene items (shampoo, soap, laundry detergent), first aid kits and multivitamins, complete new educational supplies (school backpacks, notebooks, socks, rulers, and stocked pencil cases), electric fans, and one month of subsidized operational expenses covering electricity, water, and caregiver stipends.
Mia Rosmiati, Program Manager at YIIM, stated: "This support is vital for these children. Given the remote location of the orphanage and the scarce aid it receives, we hope this collaborative effort by YIIM and PT Insight eases operational pressures and inspires others to extend a compassionate helping hand."
Representing PT Insight Investments Management, Dwi Laksmi Anggita Sari noted: "We are deeply grateful that PT Insight can contribute to easing life’s burdens for underserved communities in the nation’s outermost frontiers. We hope this humanitarian mission brings lasting comfort and hope."
This initiative reflects YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management’s ongoing mission to bolster food security and welfare for vulnerable groups during the Covid-19 crisis, building on previous humanitarian distributions across Papua, East Nusa Tenggara, Bali, Wonogiri in Central Java, and numerous other regions nationwide.
Salam Inspirasi!
