On January 24, 2021, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), supported by its primary partner PT Insight Investments Management (PT IIM), distributed humanitarian aid to communities affected by the eruption of Mount Ile Lewotolok in Lembata Regency, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara Province.

The humanitarian assistance comprised 73 basic food packages (sembako), 27 packages tailored to toddler and child needs (for children over 5 years old), 100 blankets and sleeping mats, as well as 200 protective masks.

The food relief packages consisted of rice, cooking oil, chicken eggs, instant noodles, milk, and vitamins. The relief parcels for young children included infant formula, disposable diapers, baby food, and nutritious children's snacks.

The distribution was carried out across multiple shelter hubs, including the Spensa and Don Bosko Joint Post in Jontona Village, the Rumah Kita Post and Elviren Post in Lamatokan Village, as well as Bungamuda Village, Tanjung Batu Village, and Laranwutung Village. The majority of the evacuees were from vulnerable groups, including the elderly, pregnant women, toddlers, and school-aged children.

This humanitarian response was prompted by the distressing conditions of Lembata residents who remained displaced following the eruption of Mount Ile Lewotolok. Having begun erupting in December 2020 with fluctuating volcanic activity through mid-January 2021, the disaster forced thousands of community members into evacuation sites where basic necessities were urgently required.

This initiative aligns directly with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 2: Zero Hunger.

In verifying field data and coordinating logistics, YIIM collaborated closely with local community leaders. Representing the community, Feldin Rano Kellen expressed deep gratitude to YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management: "The community expresses heartfelt thanks for the compassion demonstrated by YIIM and PT Insight toward our evacuees. This assistance is immensely helpful, and we pray that YIIM achieves continued success and progress moving forward."

Meanwhile, Dwi Laksmi Anggita Sari (warmly known as Gita), representing PT Insight Investments Management, affirmed their commitment to disaster relief: "We fully endorse this relief operation. We sincerely hope this aid brings comfort to our affected brothers and sisters, and we pray they remain blessed with health and make a swift recovery to resume their daily lives."

Previously, in November 2020, YIIM had distributed 75 basic food packages to residents economically impacted by Covid-19 in Ataili Village and Waijarang Village, Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province.

In light of recurring natural hazards in early 2021 alongside the prolonged challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management remain resolute in delivering ongoing relief to communities in need. They also continue to encourage broader civil society engagement and public giving to support marginalized populations across remote areas through the Social Assistance Across the Archipelago program.
