Manual Brew Coffee Workshop and Social Impact Engagement Through Fun(d) Brewing
YIIM, partnering with PT Insight Investments Management and IndoPremier, hosted the interactive "Fun(d) Brewing" coffee workshop at Kopi Inspirasi South Jakarta, integrating manual coffee brewing skills with mutual fund investment literacy.

On Saturday, February 29, 2020, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), in collaboration with PT Insight Investments Management and IndoPremier, successfully organized an experiential coffee brewing workshop themed “Fun(d) Brewing.” The event took place at Kopi Inspirasi Coffee Shop, Grand Wijaya Centre Complex Block F No. 62B, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, attended by 8 selected participants who won a campaign contest hosted by Insight Investments Management (Insight IM) and IndoPremier.
Prior to the brewing sessions, representatives from each organizing institution delivered opening remarks. IndoPremier representative Sandi Afriliando remarked, “This Fun(d) Brewing event organized by IndoPremier Sekuritas, Insight IM, and YIIM is truly extraordinary. It serves as an engaging brand activation while offering a firsthand introduction to the concrete social impact yielded by investing in Insight IM mutual funds. Beyond financial returns, Insight mutual fund investors generate meaningful social benefits for those in need. We can witness directly the real social impact generated through the stewardship of Insight IM and YIIM.”
Representing YIIM, Dewi Astari explained, “The lead trainers facilitating today’s workshop are proud alumni of YIIM’s flagship Barista Training program. YIIM’s barista vocational program is designed to impart valuable workforce skills to marginalized and vulnerable populations, inspiring them to become self-reliant entrepreneurs through the professional knowledge gained during training.”
Insight Investments Management representative Rinaldy stated, “This program is designed to deliver foundational barista skills to our participants—who are Insight Investors—while providing them with hands-on experience and transparent visibility into where their socially responsible investments are channeled by Insight.”
The practical workshop was instructed by three skilled baristas graduated from YIIM’s 2018 and 2019 training cohorts: Humam Hasan, Anis Saputra, and Fadhilla Salsabila. The curriculum centered on manual brewing techniques, specifically the V60 pour-over and French Press methods. These two extraction styles were chosen because of their technical accessibility and cost-effective equipment requirements for home practice. Trainees were introduced to distinct Indonesian coffee single origins and taught which brewing parameters best accentuate each bean’s flavor profile.
Through Fun(d) Brewing, Insight mutual fund investors experienced firsthand how their investment choices made via IndoPremier create profound social value for community development through PT Insight Investments Management’s CSR funds entrusted to YIIM. These contributions empower YIIM to sustain grassroots initiatives like the Barista Vocational Program for economically vulnerable groups, guiding them toward financial self-reliance.
YIIM firmly believes that as more people are inspired to champion community economic empowerment, we can accelerate the emergence of a creative, innovative, and self-sufficient society.
Salam Inspirasi!
