On February 6, 2024, the Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) again collaborated with Titan Baking to hold a culinary training using the Demo Baking method, featuring Bakpia Keju and Klepon Cheesecake. One of the major spirits behind this program is to strengthen the cooking skills of the alumni of YIIM’s assisted UMKM.

The baking demo took place in the Titan Baking kitchen located at Titan Baking Fatmawati, Jl. RS. Fatmawati Raya No. 51B, Cilandak Barat, Cilandak, South Jakarta. YIIM’s previous collaboration with Titan Baking took place in 2019 and 2020, benefiting around 39 culinary training participants, who now run various businesses in the field of dry and wet cakes as well as various kinds of snacks in the Jakarta and surrounding areas. In fact, an alumna of this program has become a culinary class trainer or mentor, namely Mrs. Wanmayetty.

There were eight beneficiaries consisting of alumni from pre-prosperous communities and friends with disabilities (deaf and physically disabled).

Training Materials

The entrepreneurship training in Cooking Demo began at 10:00 WIB. The training was led by Chef Iman and Chef Rega. In the first session, the chefs taught how to make Klepon Cheesecake, starting from the introduction of ingredients to the processing techniques. Then the participants were taught the second recipe, Bakpia Keju.

During the event, the participants were highly interactive and also asked many questions directly to Chef Iman and Chef Rega. In addition, participants were given the opportunity to practice making the Bakpia Keju dough skin. One of the participants from the deaf friends community, Mrs. Siti Hodijah, asked the Chef about tips for making bakpia skin if no tools were available. This shows Mrs. Siti’s enthusiasm; despite her limitations, they do not hinder her spirit to learn in the cooking training held by YIIM and TITAN BAKING. To reward participants who actively asked questions and participated in the training, participants were given goodie bags and shopping vouchers that could be used to buy training ingredients so they could practice at home.

YIIM is committed to accompanying and guiding pre-prosperous community groups and groups of persons with disabilities to become competitive communities based on local resources. As a non-profit institution, the Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun is very open to all parties who wish to support YIIM’s programs. Salam Inspirasi!
