Jakarta, May 27, 2025 – Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), in collaboration with Insight Investments Management, conducted a socioeconomic empowerment program for vulnerable groups through a Perfume Entrepreneurship Training on May 27, 2025. The training engaged 15 participants comprising persons with disabilities (2 with physical disabilities and 1 with visual impairment), homemakers, freelance workers, and unemployed individuals. Participants were meticulously selected through administrative registration and socioeconomic functional assessments.

The workshop was facilitated by lead trainer Susgiharti and assistant trainer Dewi Susilowati, seasoned entrepreneurs who have operated in the perfume industry since 2000 and currently manage Aneka Parfum with 12 retail outlets across the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) region.

The training was officially opened by Maria Dewi Yanti, Secretary of the Governing Board of YIIM. In her remarks, Maria stated: "YIIM has served the community for a decade, and one of our flagship endeavors is social entrepreneurship training across diverse vocational trades, including perfumery. Insight IM, as our valued partner, continues to generate positive community impact by uplifting economic self-sufficiency. We sincerely hope all participants seize this opportunity to gain valuable knowledge, launch independent ventures, and support their households."

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Coordinator of Insight IM, M. Isnaeni Setiawan, delivered inspiring remarks: "In alignment with our ethos of translating investments into positive social impact, Insight IM provides opportunities for mutual fund investors to invest while actively sharing goodwill through our CSR initiatives. Our consistent partnership with YIIM focuses on creating lasting self-reliance for beneficiaries. Building upon the proven economic improvements achieved through our 2024 perfume training cohort, we expect this 2025 session to deliver even greater economic advancement."

High participant enthusiasm was evident as 80% arrived well before the scheduled start time. The session commenced with a pre-test evaluating basic knowledge, followed by theoretical foundations on perfumery and practical introductions to formulation instruments. Participants subsequently identified various essential fragrance oils to refine their olfactory acuity—a fundamental skill for perfumery. Building upon this, participants practiced precision blending across varying fragrance concentrations, including Eau De Parfum (EDP), Eau De Toilette (EDT), and Eau De Cologne (EDC), while learning to distinguish fragrance note structures.

Beyond technical formulation, participants received comprehensive business training encompassing cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations, inventory management, and marketing strategies. During the hands-on creative session, participants designed bespoke perfume formulas reflecting their creative intuition. Each participant presented their formulation and conducted blind olfactory tests to assess scent profiles. The workshop concluded with the official awarding of completion certificates.

This program is fully harmonized with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) No. 1 (No Poverty), No. 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and No. 10 (Reduced Inequalities), actively promoting social inclusion by integrating members of the disabled community. It stands as a testament to the dedication of YIIM and Insight IM in allocating social funds that cultivate socioeconomic welfare without discrimination of physical ability, age, gender, or background.

Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) remains dedicated to welcoming cross-sector collaborations to expand humanitarian impact and uplift vulnerable communities across Indonesia.

Salam Inspirasi!
