On April 10, 2020, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), in collaboration with corporate partner PT Insight Investments Management, once again distributed emergency humanitarian relief to address the escalating COVID-19 pandemic.

In this emergency response operation, YIIM delivered 1,000 sets of medical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) through the CT ARSA Foundation at Trans Media Building (Transcorp), Jalan Kapten Tendean Kav. 14–16A, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta. These critical PPE kits were allocated to major COVID-19 referral hospitals in DKI Jakarta, including Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo National Central General Hospital (RSUPN Cipto Mangunkusumo), RSPI Sulianti Saroso, RS Sumber Waras, the National Brain Center Hospital (RS Pusat Otak Nasional), and RSUP Persahabatan.

In addition to physical PPE supplies, YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management contributed a cash donation of Rp 100,000,000 (one hundred million rupiah) through the Indonesian Hospital Association (PERSI) to finance urgent medical gear procurement.

Extending moral and logistical support to frontline volunteers, the initiative also provided 120 nutritious meal boxes and 100 field T-shirts for operational relief workers from the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of South Jakarta.

Empowering local enterprise, YIIM commissioned the production of 5,000 washable cloth masks through neighborhood MSME tailors, subsequently distributing them free of charge to underprivileged households and vulnerable informal daily laborers.

This comprehensive assistance was further augmented by the distribution of 280 cooked meal packs, 120 staple food packages (sembako), and vitamin C supplements for vulnerable households and informal workers affected by the pandemic. Distribution covered high-density locales including Jagakarsa, Margonda Depok, Pasar Senen, Bendungan Hilir (Benhil), Karet, Palmerah, Rawasari, Cempaka Putih, Tanjung Priok, and Pasar Kosambi.

Chairman of the YIIM Board, Chrisbiantoro, conveyed in an official statement, “We sincerely hope this assistance offers robust protection and tangible benefits for medical personnel valiantly striving on the frontlines, as well as essential relief for vulnerable families bearing the brunt of this crisis.”

Chrisbiantoro added, “We maintain firm optimism that through the genuine spirit of gotong royong (mutual cooperation) uniting all sectors of the nation, Indonesia will swiftly overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Concurring with this vision, PT Insight Investments Management emphasized the vital need for multi-sectoral solidarity in combating the global public health emergency.

Representative of PT Insight Investments Management, Suluh T. Rahardjo, affirmed, “This contribution represents our unwavering corporate commitment to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with all national elements in arresting the spread and socioeconomic impacts of COVID-19.”

This relief operation is part of an integrated, phased intervention by YIIM and Insight. On March 24, 2020, the partners provided disinfectant supplies through PMI South Jakarta and BAZNAS to sanitize houses of worship and public facilities.

Subsequently, on April 1 and 2, 2020, YIIM and Insight delivered 300 cooked meal packs and 100 food packages to informal gig workers and low-income families across Jakarta, Bekasi, and Depok.

This sustained campaign underscores the enduring commitment of YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management to serve vulnerable populations as infection tallies escalated nationally.

As of April 10, 2020, national records confirmed 3,512 positive COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, with 306 fatalities and 282 recoveries. Deep sorrow accompanied the recorded sacrifice of 30 medical personnel who succumbed to the illness while treating coronavirus patients up to April 6, 2020.

Observing this critical climate, YIIM and Insight closely synchronized their actions with government Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB), expanding social safety nets to aid healthcare workers, volunteers, and impoverished households.

This humanitarian solidarity aligns seamlessly with the global action framework defined in the United Nations General Assembly Resolution of September 25, 2015, regarding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Ensuring Healthy Lives and Promoting Well-being for All.

The intervention also operationalizes the mandate of the Minister of Health Regulation (Permenkes) Number 8 of 2019 regarding Community Empowerment in Health, particularly Article 3, which mandates heightened partnerships across government sectors, community organizations, and private corporations.

As an altruistic non-profit entity, YIIM remains resolute in collaborating across all pillars of society to combat the pandemic, fervently praying for the crisis to pass and for Indonesia to recover swiftly and completely.
