On Saturday, March 23, 2024, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), supported by PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) in cooperation with Politeknik Lembaga Pendidikan Perkebunan (LPP) Yogyakarta, organized a Ramadan social assistance program themed “Gempita Ramadhan” for orphans at Panti Asuhan Graha Yatim, located on Jl. Parangtritis No. 178 A, RT 04/RW 11, Mantrijeron, Mantrijeron District, Yogyakarta City, Special Region of Yogyakarta.

The Ramadan social aid included the distribution of 70 packages of takjil and boxed meals for a communal break-fasting gathering, 1 food parcel package (containing sugar, cooking oil, rice, instant noodles, and assorted snacks), as well as cash allowances for 30 orphaned dhuafa children.

Demonstrating active community service and civic engagement by YIIM-PT INSIGHT scholarship recipients during Ramadan 2024, this initiative was conceived and executed directly by 10 students receiving the YIIM-PT INSIGHT scholarship at Politeknik LPP Yogyakarta.

The program was attended virtually by Mr. Oni Apriyanto, S.P., M.Sc., Vice Director III for Student Affairs, the 10 YIIM-PT INSIGHT scholarship students, the management team of the Islamic Spiritual Student Activity Unit (BKI) of Politeknik LPP Yogyakarta, Mr. Chrisbiantoro, S.H., LL.M., Chairman of the Board of Management of Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), alongside the 30 orphaned children.

In his address, Chrisbiantoro, Chairman of YIIM, stated: “We greatly appreciate this commendable initiative from our scholarship students at Politeknik LPP Yogyakarta. This youth-led Ramadan project aligns harmoniously with the Ramadan initiatives conducted by YIIM and PT INSIGHT. We hope this aid can help ease the daily needs of the children at the shelter.”

Speaking on behalf of Politeknik LPP Yogyakarta, Mr. Oni Apriyanto, S.P., M.Sc., Vice Director III for Student Affairs, added: “We are deeply honored to walk side by side with YIIM and PT INSIGHT in making a tangible contribution to the nation. We hope this social initiative brings meaningful benefits. We also express our sincere gratitude for providing our students with life-changing scholarship opportunities.”

This social event aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 2: Zero Hunger.

This Ramadan outreach initiative represents the initial chapter in the “Gempita Ramadhan” 2024 program series, carried out across several locations including DKI Jakarta, Depok City, Yogyakarta, and Madura. The series encompasses various activities such as iftar meals, takjil distribution, orphan stipends, basic food staples, prayer equipment, complimentary AC cleaning and servicing for mosques and orphanages, as well as complimentary haircuts.

As a non-profit foundation, YIIM remains open to support and partnerships with multi-sectoral entities so that more individuals can benefit from YIIM’s programs and the positive inspiration shared can broaden to build Indonesia together.
