On August 10, 2022, the Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) with the support of PT Insight Investments Management, in collaboration with the Class 1 Penitentiary Counseling Center (BAPAS) Central Jakarta, held the second wave of car steam washing entrepreneurship training for correctional clients and the general public. This activity aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Number 1 on eradicating poverty, Number 8 on decent work and economic growth, and Number 17 on partnerships to achieve the goals.

This training event was attended by Heru Prasetyo as Head of BAPAS Jakarta Pusat and Chrisbiantoro as Chairperson of the YIIM Board. The training began with an opening by Heru Prasetyo as Head of BAPAS Jakarta Pusat. He stated, “Thank you to YIIM and PT Insight for organizing this training for the correctional clients of BAPAS Jakarta Pusat. Hopefully we can continue to work together to guide the community toward becoming more independent and having new skills. Whatever YIIM provides should be beneficial to the clients and used properly going forward.”

Chrisbiantoro, as Chairperson of the YIIM Board, also stated, “I congratulate ladies and gentlemen who have the opportunity to participate in this car steam washing training. This program is one of several we have run in cooperation with BAPAS Jakarta Pusat. We hope this car steam washing training can be an initial door for you to open a new chapter in your lives and be beneficial for all participants. May this training give rise to entrepreneurs and workers in the MSME car washing sector.”

This second wave of car steam washing skills training was attended by 8 people, including 7 correctional clients of BAPAS Jakarta Pusat and 1 member of the general public. The training ran from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Similar to the first wave of training, participants were given theoretical explanations by trainers regarding the introduction of equipment and materials for steam washing, procedures for washing and drying vehicles, tire shining techniques, and an explanation of the car steam washing business. After the trainer provided the theoretical explanations, participants were guided to practice using the electric dynamo steam equipment and how to do car steam washing.

The training activity was concluded with the handover of certificates to participants who had completed the training by Ari Samanto, Head of the Correctional Client Guidance Section. He stated, “Make this training a means of learning to grow and become better in the future.”

This training is one manifestation of the results of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing between YIIM and BAPAS Jakarta Pusat to provide mentorship and a platform for correctional clients to develop their skills. With this training organized by YIIM and INSIGHT, it is hoped that participants can become economically independent and change their lives for the better compared to before.

As a non-profit organization, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun is very open to any parties who wish to support or donate in any form. Because every donation given to YIIM will be distributed directly to the rightful beneficiaries.

Salam Inspirasi!
