PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT), in collaboration with Universitas Bung Karno (UBK) and Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), hosted an educational financial literacy seminar entitled "Investment Strategies in Navigating the Threat of Economic Recession in 2023". The seminar took place on December 21, 2022, at the Fatmawati Auditorium on the UBK Campus, Jl. Kimia No. 20, RT 10/RW 01, Pegangsaan, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

The symposium drew 135 members of the UBK academic community, including undergraduate students, faculty lecturers, deans, Vice Rectors I, II, and III, and the University Rector. Among the participants, 119 students actively engaged in exploring avenues toward financial independence and sound investing.

The seminar featured Alifah Ghina Maharani, Deputy Head of Retail Sales at PT Insight Investments Management, as keynote speaker. The session was formally opened with welcoming remarks from the Rector of Universitas Bung Karno, Dr. Didik Suhariyanto, S.H., M.H. Distinguished faculty members in attendance included Vice Rector III Rinaldi Agusta Fahlevie, S.H., M.H., CLA.; Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Susanto Yogo Purnomo, S.E., M.Pd.; faculty lecturer Drs. Glen Fortuna Dela Fortega, M.M., S.H., M.H. (co-speaker); and faculty lecturer Erita Oktasari, S.E., M.M. (session moderator). Welcoming remarks were also delivered by Riccana Rosita, Treasurer of the Board of YIIM.

Prior to the core financial panel, the event featured a live barista showcase and espresso-brewing masterclass led by Humam Hasan. Humam is a graduate of the 2018 social entrepreneurship program sponsored by PT INSIGHT and YIIM, who subsequently earned an academic scholarship to pursue a Management degree at UBK under the YIIM-INSIGHT-UBK institutional partnership. Assisting him was Fransisca Nathalie, owner of Sasca Coffee Shop and an alumna of YIIM's 2020 entrepreneurship training.

In her presentation, Alifah Ghina Maharani underscored the critical role of personal financial literacy: "Navigating the economic recession in 2023 demands prudent financial management. A cornerstone of this preparation is channeling investments into safe, regulated platforms. PT INSIGHT stands out as a trusted asset manager with a distinguished ethos: we empower investors to grow their wealth while actively creating positive social and environmental outcomes through our guiding philosophy 'Transforming Investments to Social Impact'. Through sustained CSR collaborations with our operational partner YIIM, we channel benevolence nationwide."

In his address, UBK Rector Dr. Didik Suhariyanto, S.H., M.H., emphasized higher education's civic responsibility: "Universitas Bung Karno's academic community must play an active role in driving national economic resilience amid the challenges of a 2023 recession. We must champion economic independence, adaptability, and responsible financial stewardship, while collaborating to oversee a sound investment climate between the public and private sectors. We trust that the enduring cooperation between UBK, YIIM, and PT INSIGHT will continue generating high-impact initiatives such as this seminar."

Adding to these perspectives, YIIM Treasurer Riccana Rosita noted: "This seminar is part of an ongoing two-year collaborative partnership between YIIM and UBK, consistently championed by our primary partner, PT INSIGHT. We hope this educational forum elevates financial literacy among UBK students, instills disciplined investment habits, and equips our youth for future socioeconomic independence."

Strengthening financial literacy amid recessionary pressures is essential for young scholars. As centers of academic inquiry, universities serve as conduits for public financial education and sustainable wealth creation.

This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
