Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), alongside PT Insight Investments Management (Insight IM), remains committed to supporting the advancement of innovative, eco-friendly renewable energy solutions. This support was channeled to the Apatte62 Energy-Efficient Car Research Team of Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Malang.

Team Apatte62 is a student automotive research team dedicated to engineering vehicles powered by sustainable fuels to safeguard the environment and combat global emissions driving climate change.

YIIM together with Insight IM supported Team Apatte62 across multiple major events, including the Indonesia International Hydrogen Summit 2024 in Jakarta, the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia in West Nusa Tenggara, and the Energy-Efficient Car Contest organized by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) this coming October.

On Monday, June 24, 2024, a team of 28 students and 2 faculty advisors was officially dispatched during a send-off ceremony held on the 6th floor of the Universitas Brawijaya Rectorate Building. UB Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Setiawan Noerdajasakti, S.H., M.H., sent off the Apatte62 Brawijaya contingent to contest the Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM) Asia 2024 from July 2 to 6, 2024, at the Mandalika International Circuit in West Nusa Tenggara. This innovation arena challenges teams to design, build, test, and drive eco-friendly vehicles using minimal energy inputs, pitting Apatte62 Brawijaya against 80 teams from 12 countries across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East. This year marked the team’s third appearance at the Mandalika circuit.

At this year’s SEM, Team Apatte62 secured two prestigious podium finishes: 1st Place in the Hydrogen Prototype Category (Anagata FCV) and 2nd Place in the Urban Electric Category (Marsela EV). In prior years, Team Apatte62 clinched 1st Place in Urban Electric at SEM 2023, and captured 1st Place in Hydrogen Prototype and 2nd Place in Urban Electric at SEM 2022.

“Insight IM, through our Insight Renewable Energy Fund product, actively supports research into eco-friendly technologies driven by Universitas Brawijaya’s Apatte62 team. Insight IM sees immense potential in their research work. They not only contribute to the advancement of energy-saving technologies, but also serve as a profound inspiration for youth to continue innovating,” explained Ria M. Warganda, Director of Insight IM.

This environmental initiative constitutes part of Insight IM’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and environmental stewardship (TJSL) to the public, reflecting Insight IM’s pledge to promote research in green technology in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG 13: Climate Action and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
