On Friday, 10 January 2020, the Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), together with PT Insight Investments Management and supported by Dana Pensiun Perkebunan (Dapenbun) and PTPN XII, proudly inaugurated the library building of Sekolah Dasar Negeri (SDN) 01 Curah Takir, located in Curah Takir Village, Sempurejo District, Jember, East Java.

Before the opening ceremony, the students of SDN 01 Curah Takir and teacher representatives performed traditional dance and singing performances to entertain the invited guests. The event continued with speeches from the Principal, local government and military officials (muspika), the President Director of PTPN XII, the President Director of Dapenbun, PT Insight Investments Management, and YIIM, and ended with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in front of the library building as a symbol of its official inauguration.

The construction process of the 54m2 library building at SDN 01 Curah Takir began on 17 November 2019 and was completed on 15 December 2019. SDN 01 Curah Takir, located within the PTPN XII plantation area, is one of the schools selected by YIIM to receive assistance for the construction of a library building.

In addition to constructing the library building, YIIM also helped repair the roofs and floors of the classrooms at SDN 01 Curah Takir. YIIM hopes that this assistance in building a library and renovating the school will support the creation of a safe, comfortable, and beautiful learning environment for students, teachers, and the surrounding community. YIIM also hopes that this movement can encourage other parties to care for schools in remote areas so that they can receive educational support facilities equal to those in major cities.

In this event, YIIM collaborated with the teachers and students of SDN 01 Curah Takir. Also present at the event were 85 students, the Principal, teachers, and YIIM partners including Dapenbun, PT Insight Investments Management, representatives of PTPN XII East Java, as well as the Lurah, Camat, and other local officials.

This activity is a form of YIIM’s commitment to providing inspiration for development, particularly in the field of education. YIIM believes that building a library and providing facilities and infrastructure will help all students open wider horizons of knowledge.

YIIM chose to assist SDN 01 Curah Takir due to its geographical location, which is far from public access and considered a remote area, making it difficult for students to access libraries.

Previously, in 2019, YIIM also assisted in building library buildings located in 14 remote areas in Sumatra, from Aceh Province to Lampung.

In his speech, Chrisbiantoro, as the chairman of YIIM, stated during the inauguration ceremony of the SDN 01 Curah Takir library building, “As a social institution, we carry a mission to help those who are less fortunate. Here, we want to help our elementary school brothers and sisters to open the horizons of knowledge through books and libraries.”

In addition, the Principal of SDN 01 Curah Takir, Supriani, also expressed her appreciation for the library assistance. Supriani said, “Thank you, hopefully our school will have better supporting facilities.”

Furthermore, the Director of Dapenbun, Edwin Sinaga, also appreciated the handover ceremony of the library assistance. Mr. Didi, a representative of PT Insight Investments Management who attended the event, also expressed his support for this activity.
