On October 25, 2020, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), in collaboration with PT Insight Investments Management, hosted an inspiring live talk show entitled "Inspiration Discussion Series IV: Sharing Coffee Business Tips and Strategies with Coffee Barista Training Alumni", engaging successful beneficiaries of YIIM’s barista vocational program developed since 2018.

Broadcast live via YIIM’s official Instagram account for one full hour, the session featured compelling entrepreneurial stories and interactive Q&A discussions with the online audience. The archived session remains accessible at: https://www.instagram.com/p/CGuAq9PH2U5/.

This initiative embodies the sustained dedication of YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management to ignite entrepreneurial spirit and foster grassroots economic self-reliance throughout society.

The dialogue featured three distinguished practitioners from the coffee industry, moderated by Ratih Puspita from YIIM’s economic empowerment division:

  • Humam Hasan, an alumnus of YIIM’s 2018 barista training who currently serves as Head Barista at Kopi Inspirasi;
  • Bambang Purbowo, an alumnus of the 2020 barista training and business equipment grant recipient who independently founded "Kopi Bali Lore"; and
  • Fahmi Yusa Adianugraha, professional mentor and YIIM 2020 barista trainer who serves as Head Barista at Selective Coffee Roasters.

These speakers vividly illustrate the holistic impact of YIIM’s training ecosystem, showcasing how beneficiaries progress from skill acquisition to running independent, viable coffee enterprises.

Through this forum, YIIM explored actionable operational strategies and adaptive techniques utilized by the alumni to navigate pandemic disruptions. YIIM envisions that these shared experiences will inspire aspiring entrepreneurs to persevere and innovate in the coffee sector during challenging economic times.

Furthermore, the discussion amplified public awareness regarding YIIM’s inclusive economic empowerment initiatives, particularly its specialized barista vocational training track.

Barista training remains a flagship economic empowerment model by YIIM, intentionally crafted to instill marketable skills, competitiveness, and economic resilience among marginalized populations, including low-income families, informal laborers, reformed former inmates, and victims of corporate downsizing (PHK).

Salam Inspirasi!
